Casa del Mar is a cosy restaurant that makes a big impact. Situated, nestling amongst apartment blocks in central Marbella, it is a reminder of a bygone age and the city’s humble beginnings before it was transformed into a celebrity playground for international sunworshippers. Once they had taken over the property the current owners changed this small house into a boho chic restaurant, whilst keeping its original charm.

When customers arrive at the restaurant, they see the welcoming sight of Cape Reed natural wood railings with saligna slats. They make a real statement and perfectly close off the raised wood terrace where diners can enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail.

wooden pergola covers the large patio situated to the side and back of the restaurant, creating a natural rustic yet elegant space for diners. White washed pine columns complement the original building’s natural stone walls, creating a unique venue. The saligna wooden slats covering the pergola provide shade, allowing customers to relax over a long lunch even during the hottest days of the summer.

As night falls, the subdued lighted and wooden structure create a beautiful atmosphere for guests to enjoy whilst exploring the traditional Mediterranean cuisine, featuring locally sources produce from the Casa del Mar’s own garden in La Axarquía. The kitchen also uses only the best meat and fish, including the prized blue fin tuna sourced from the cool waters of the Strait of Gibraltar and the Gulf of Cadiz.

In total, there is almost 100 square metres of pergola and 19 meters of railings, which took the Cape Reed team approximately three weeks to build and deliver, on time and within budget!
